WOODLAND, Summit County — A man visiting Utah from England was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday when he pulled out on the wrong side of the road.

The man and another motorcyclist vacationing from England had stopped at a pullout area on state Route 35 in Wolf Creek Pass about 12:30 p.m. Both men drove their motorcycles back out onto the road in the wrong lane heading west, Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said.

The man was hit by an eastbound pickup truck and died when he was thrown from the bike, Royce reported. The second motorcyclist was able to swerve out of the truck's path.

The truck and the motorcycle went off the road and down a steep embankment. The truck's driver was transported to Intermountain Medical Center in serious condition.

The crash occurred about 20 miles east of Woodland. The man's name was not immediately released as police worked to notify family members.
