Mr. Dan Liljenquist just can't keep his hands off the state retirement funds or quit worrying about them ("No double-dipping return," Jan. 8). He is responsible for the 25 percent reduction in state teachers retirement; now, if teachers go back to work following retirement — probably because they can't make it on the reduced benefit — Liljenquist is accusing them of "double dipping" if they get paid for working.
If a nonretired person was paid to do that same job, would Liljenquist accuse them of wasting taxpayers' dollars? The job will be filled by someone, and it's the same amount of money. Did someone say teachers should receive more money? What about retired teachers?
