A lighthearted look at news of the day:

Police responding to a domestic dispute call in Taylorsville this week found the suspect hiding in a clothes dryer. The media is still deciding what sort of spin to put on the story.

Upon finding the man, police apparently told him they didn’t want any static.

Media reports say a dog in Seattle is a regular rider on the city’s transit system, often riding a bus alone to a dog park. Personally, I think it’s nice to see a dog being environmentally conscious. I hate it when dogs drive themselves to the park.

The dog reportedly also reads the newspaper on the way. No surprise there; after all, she was trained with a newspaper.

Bus drivers in Seattle apparently all know the dog and they enjoy having her onboard, except when she doesn’t have exact change.

It used to be the United States had a wet-foot-dry-foot policy on people trying to get here from Cuba. If they made it to dry land, they could stay. If they still were in water when captured, they were sent back. Now things are loosening up. Look for the new sliding-in-safe foot policy, which means if you are a potential major league baseball player, you can come any way you’d like.

Last week alone, President Obama said he wanted to give everyone a free community college education and free broadband. He can afford to say things like this now that he has a Republican Congress and he knows he won’t get anything he wants anyway.

Wait until the president announces free pizza for everyone on Fridays. It may be the end of gridlock.

Gas prices are so low now it’s almost cheaper per gallon than a Big Gulp. But if you go that route, I would suggest adding a flavor shot or two.

A new study purports there is a link between hydraulic fracking, the underground method that has greatly increased the nation’s oil supply, and earthquakes of up to a 3.0 magnitude. Big deal. So you have to tie down your water heater. We’re talking cheap gas, here!
