We lived in the Philippines from 1998 to 2000. In order to help their air pollution problem, the Philippine government passed a law that people were only allowed to drive their cars according to the last number on their car license plate. If the license plate number ended in an odd number, you could only drive on an odd-numbered day. Likewise, if your license plate number ended in an even number, you could only drive on an even-numbered day.

This cut down on the amount of cars on the roads and helped the air pollution. People carpooled, rode the buses or took a taxi to work. I wonder if this law would help in curbing Utah's inversion pollution?
