SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Transit Authority FrontRunner trains now have at least two public restrooms per train. Most trains will have three public restrooms, one on each bi-level Bombardier car.

The restrooms were opened Monday as a result of customer feedback, UTA rail operations supervisor Andres Alarcon said. Prior to this week, only one bathroom on each FrontRunner train was open to the public because UTA had only one sewage dumping station. Other restrooms were used to store emergency supplies.

Alarcon said that over the past several months, UTA departments have been working to respond to customer requests for more restrooms on trains. Additional dumping stations were added to the UTA system, and special cabinets were added to Bombardier cars to house emergency supplies.

Alarcon said he hopes the additional bathrooms will accommodate the growing number of FrontRunner riders and ensure that passengers have a comfortable trip.
