Scott Moake finished in eighth place with a mark of 2.05m on Saturday at the Air Force Invitational. Moake's performance follows up Michael McPherson's win in the heptathlon Friday, securing McPherson's place in the national spotlight, currently ranking No. 3 in the nation.

"While Moake's leg felt a bit heavy today, his final attempts at the next height, which would be a new personal best and school record of 2.14m, showed excellent technique," associate head coach Kirke Adamson said. "I expect it is only a matter of time until he pushes through the seven-foot barrier."

Moake competed in a loaded field amongst athletes from BYU, Air Force and Colorado, with Falcon Taylor Smith claiming the victory with a mark of 2.17m.
