The controversy over police killing so many civilians throughout our country and in Utah continues to grow. Both police and innocent civilians fear the increasing violence in our society. Contributing to this societal violence and fear is the rising injustice and inequality in our capitalist and excessively armed civilization.
The increasing numbers of poor people being used by corporations to make money have the poor and middle classes fighting among themselves for what's left. Access to guns makes it easy to seriously hurt each other.
In some ways, it is not the fault of the police or innocent people who are fed up with the system; it is the focus on money and greed and the availability of guns that makes fear and violence so prevalent and easy in our neighborhoods.
