OGDEN — Investigators still did not know Tuesday what started a fire that displaced 20 people from an apartment complex near Weber State University.

The fire was reported about 10:45 p.m. Monday at the three-story building, 4564 Harrison Blvd. It started in the attic area between the third floor ceiling and the roof, said Ogden Deputy Fire Chief Eric Bauman.

By the time firefighters arrived, the flames had burned through the roof, he said.

Approximately 20 tenants from six apartments were displaced. All of the affected units suffered some fire, water and smoke damage, he said. Two apartments suffered heavy fire damage.

No injuries were reported to tenants or firefighters. All pets were also accounted for and reunited with their owners, Bauman said.

Damage was estimated at $100,000.
