Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company will perform “Flabbergast,” a show that is intended for guests of all ages, Jan. 30-31.

“It’s a show that I think is incredibly bright, colorful and engaging in a way that is accessible to anyone of any age,” Sarah Luks-Morgan, marketing and PR director for Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, said in an interview with the Deseret News. “It’s very kid-friendly, but it’s fun and engaging for adults as well.”

The show features the work of Tandy Beal, who is the artistic director for Tandy Beal and Company and formerly worked with the Pickle Family Circus, and includes stunts and bright costumes that “(immerse) the audience in a journey of wonder as the acrobatic physicality of the dancers defies expectation,” according to a news release.

The show will also include multiple guest performers of all ages and will feature “You and the Space Between” by Miguel Azcue, a former member of the dance company.

Luks-Morgan said providing one production a year that, like “Flabbergast,” will be appealing and accessible for all ages is central to the dance company’s focus.

“Part of our mission is that dance is for everyone,” she said. “We think it’s really important that anyone of any age be able to appreciate and see dance as a valued art form.”

The show will be performed Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 31 at 2 and 7 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 50 W. 200 South. Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for children ages 12 and under or $45 for a family of five. Prices increase $5 on the day of the show. Visit arttix.org or call 801-355-2787 for tickets.
