SALT LAKE CITY — The Governor’s Office of Economic Development has announced the appointment of Benjamin Hart as the new managing director for urban and rural business services.
The post was previously held by Vincent Mikolay, who recently returned to the private sector.
Hart most recently worked with the Department of Workforce Services as director of employer support initiatives. He oversaw the department’s business efforts, which included multiple business and education partnerships.
At Workforce Services, Hart was responsible for the Small Business Bridge program and the UCAIR Clean Air Assist program. He also oversaw several education grant programs including the Utah Cluster Acceleration Partnership, which is designed to help educational institutions create and expand certificate and degree programs for careers that have high demand in the private sector.
"I am excited to help every Utah business benefit from our expanding economy, and I look forward to working on those issues that are critical to sustaining private sector growth,” Hart said.
