SALT LAKE CITY — The Will Dance for Kids project has scheduled two events this week to collect peanut butter and raise money to help the Utah Food Bank’s Backpack program.

Chick-fil-A will give away a free 8-piece chicken nugget meal for every 13-ounce or larger jar of peanut butter brought to participating Utah restaurants on Nov. 4 from 5-8 p.m.

The Peanut Butter Jamm is Nov. 7 at the Gallivan Center Upstairs Hall, 239 S. Main. The event will include a dance workshop at 9 a.m. All-style dance battles will follow the workshop, divided into a junior division at 10:15 a.m. for kids ages 6 and up, and a senior division at 11:30 a.m. for kids ages 13 and up.

Entrance to the event is a jar of peanut butter. An additional $10 fee is required for participation in the dance workshop and in each dance battle.

The food bank’s Backpack program targets child hunger by sending children in need home with a backpack of food for the weekend. Last year, children raised 6,000 jars of peanut butter.
