The RootsTech conference kicked off Thursday morning at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City. This year's theme is “Who Inspires You?” and a video about the theme showcases responses from many people. The answers vary from fictional characters like Cinderella to real-life heroes like Gandhi and Mother Teresa.

Facebook users visiting the FamilySearch page wrote about people who have inspired them.

“Franklin Roosevelt,” June Newbery said. “A paralyzed polio victim who inherited a massive Depression followed by the deadly World War II when elected president. He managed to maintain his faith in his God and in his nation through crises after crises. His legacy still blesses my life today.”

Other answers included ancestors and church leaders.

“My Nana,” Fran Kitto wrote. “We called her the Duchess even though she was born in 1896 in a poorer part of London. Great memories.”
