Utah Valley University senior Brayden Eriksen has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for Feb. 9-15.

Eriksen, from Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, Canada (Kwalikum HS), finished in a tie for third place at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George, Utah. He finished the two-round tournament with a 6-under par 138 after holding the first round lead with a 7-under 65. Eriksen's third-place finish helped the Wolverines to a third-place team finish at the event.

"Brayden had a great tournament," Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran said. "He understands his game and is a great putter. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a great spring season."

Eriksen and the rest of the Utah Valley men's golf team are back in action Feb. 22-24, at the Snowman Getaway at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Arizona.
