Lady Gaga is best known for outrageous costumes and auto-tuned pop tracks, but on Sunday night, Lady Gaga proved she really can sing as she performed a medley of songs from “The Sound of Music,” in honor of the film's 50th anniversary. Her performance received a standing ovation from the crowd but also pleased the film's star, Julie Andrews.

“Dear Lady Gaga,” Andrews said following the performance. “Thank you for that wonderful tribute. It really warmed my heart. It really did.”

Gaga sang “The Sound of Music,” “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” and “Climb Ev'ry Mountain” before being embraced by the woman she called “the incomparable Julie Andrews.”
