Utah State gymnastics (4-4, 1-4 MRGC) has its sixth Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference meet of the season as it travels to Cedar City, Utah, for a tri-meet against Mountain Rim Gymnastics foes No. 21 Southern Utah and No. 18 Denver on Friday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. MT.

Utah State is coming off a 196.225-195.025 loss against Southern Utah at home last week, where junior McKinzey Martinez won the all-around with a 39.275, which included a vault event title and a career-high score on floor with a 9.875. The Aggies scored season-high team scores on bars and vault but could not overcome SUU's school record performance on bars.
Southern Utah is coming off a dual meet win against Utah State last week. The Thunderbirds scored a 196.225, led by a team score of 49.250 on bars and a 49.225 on beam. Jamie Armijo and Kirsten Yee each scored a 9.900 on bars, while Danielle Ramirez and Tyly Bozzuto each grabbed a 9.875 on beam. SUU has an RQS of 195.555 and a high score of 196.225. The Thunderbirds are coached by Scott Bauman, who is in his 24th year at the helm of the SUU gymnastics program. Under Bauman's guidance, the team has jumped its all-around average from 182.16 in 1991 (the year before he came) to a school record 195.181 in 2010.
Denver is led by senior Nina McGee, who has earned Mountain Rim Gymnastics Gymnast of the Week honors three times this season. The Pioneers are coming off a first-place finish at a tri-meet against BYU and Iowa, scoring a season-high 196.725. McGee scored a 39.450 in the all-around, also winning the bar and floor titles. Maggie Laughlin was named the MRGC Specialist of the Week after her 9.950 performance on floor. Julia Ross also scored a 9.900 on vault. The Pioneers are coached by Melissa Kutcher-Rinehart, who is in her 17th season as head coach. She has led DU to 14 consecutive NCAA Regionals appearances.
