I find it rather offensive that, while Utah spends among the least amount per pupil and the Legislature is trying to make our tax dollars go further for education, the Murray school board members may soon be quietly voting to double their salaries. Wouldn't this money be better spent on supplies, school buildings, buses, new teachers or reducing class sizes? Isn't that what our tax dollars are for?
Why don't you let the residents of Murray decide how much of a raise you deserve? Not many of us "common folks" can double our salaries instantly. Maybe we should all vote to halve our taxes that go to the school district.
Murray school board members should be ashamed for demonstrating greed with taxpayer money while the schools they preside over struggle to make ends meet.
