CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — Jarron Nash and Carson Shanks both posted double-doubles and North Dakota beat Southern Utah 89-85 in overtime on Thursday night.

A 3-pointer by Southern Utah's A.J. Hess in the final second of regulation sent the game into overtime tied at 75. UND (8-13, 4-6 Big Sky) scored the first six points of overtime and led to the end, making 10 free throws.

Nash had 21 points and 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double this season. Shanks notched his first-ever with 14 points and 12 boards. Estan Tyler, 13 of 14 from the line, scored 18 points. Terrel de Rouen added a career-tying 17.

UND led 41-28 at halftime, but the Thunderbirds came out on a 19-5 run for a one-point lead. Nash made two free throws with eight seconds left before Hess' 3-pointer tied it.

Hess scored 18 points to lead five Thunderbirds (5-15, 2-7 Big Sky) in double figures. It's not his first 3-pointer at the buzzer in regulation this season. He hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to beat Texas-San Antonio in November.
