Senior Michael McPherson travels to Fayetteville, Arkansas, as Utah Valley University's first indoor track and field athlete to qualify and compete in the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14.
The heptathlon begins Friday with the first event of the hepathlon, the 60m dash, at 9:00 a.m. MT. McPherson set the school record and qualified in the heptathlon when he finished in first place at the WAC Indoor Championships with 5,546 points.
He enters the contest being ranked No. 16 nationally. The top 16 athletes in the country are invited to participate in the indoor championships. McPherson is also the only male athlete to qualify from the Western Athletic Conference.
The meet will stream live on ESPN3, and a tape delay of the championship will air March 23 at 5 p.m. MT, on ESPNU. Results from the meet and McPherson's progress can be found on the Wolverine website following the completion of each day's events, along with a complete schedule of events.
