WAYNE 60, WENDOVER 48: Jake Stevens, Nate Dendy and Brigg Blackburn all scored in double figures to pace Wayne to the 1A first-round victory over Wendover. Wayne trailed early in the game, but used a strong second quarter to open up a 32-24 halftime lead en route to the win.
TINTIC 56, VALLEY 50: Kenny Wall scored 17 points and Layne Murdoch added 15 as underdog Tintic held off Valley for the impressive victory in the opening round of the 1A state tournament.
RICH 78, DIAMOND RANCH 57: Wyatt Muirbrook scored 23 points while Mitch Jarman added 15 points on five 3-pointers as Rich raced to a 51-24 halftime lead and never looked back in the opening round of the 1A state tournament.
MONTICELLO 60, MANILA 44: Sheldon Black knocked down four 3-pointers and finished with 20 points to lead Monticello past Manila in the opening round of the 1A state tournament. The Buckaroos jumped out to a 16-3 lead after the first quarter in marching into the quarterfinals.
TABIONA 78, TELOS 33: Bailey Hogan scored 22 points and was one of 11 Tabiona players who scored in a big opening round victory of the 1A state tournament for the Tigers.
BRYCE VALLEY 67, PIUTE 66: Kix Roundy scored 26 points as Bryce Valley eked out the 1A first round victory over Piute. Bryce Valley outscored Piute 26-18 in the fourth quarter to rally for the win.
PANGUITCH 56, ST. JOSEPH 29: Panguitch outscored St. Joseph 40-12 in the first and fourth quarters combined in a convincing 1A first-round victory. Dason Houston led the Bobcats with 25 points, with Trey Barney adding 18.
GREEN RIVER 47, DUCHESNE 41: The Pirates advanced to the quarterfinals.

CARBON 2, SOUTH SUMMIT 1: South Summit took a second-half lead, but Carbon was able to climb back and steal a road victory in the preseason.
OREM 1, PLEASANT GROVE 0: The Tigers opened the season with a victory on a chilly night against Pleasant Grove.
PROVO 5, STANSBURY 0: Provo used a big first half to beat the Stallions.
TIMPVIEW 1, TIMPANOGOS 0: Timpview used a 24th-minute goal to get past Timpanogos.
MAESER PREP 1, AMERICAN PREPARATORY ACADEMY 0: Taylor Brands lone goal lifted Maeser Prep to the season-opening victory over American Preparatory Academy.
