The Utah Grizzlies face the Ontario Reign in the second round of the ECHL’s Kelly Cup Playoffs that open Sunday and Monday, at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. respectively, at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.

The Grizzlies host games three, four and five if necessary at Maverik Center on Wednesday, May 6; Friday, May 8; and Saturday, May 9, if necessary. All Maverik Center games will start at 7 p.m.

Wednesday’s game three will be a Wild Wednesday featuring $5 student tickets and $2 food and beverage options.

The matchup was finalized Tuesday evening when Ontario defeated Colorado, 4-2, in the seventh game of their best-of-seven series. Ontario erased a 3-2 series deficit as it returned home with a 4-1 win Monday night.

Utah is the ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks. Ontario is the ECHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings.

Utah advanced to the second round for the third time in six years and fourth time in eight seasons Monday with a 3-0 shutout win against Idaho. Utah won the final three games of the series and closed out the Steelheads four games to two in game six.

The Grizzlies and Reign meet for the second time in three seasons in the playoffs. Ontario defeated Utah in the first round in 2013, with the final two wins coming in overtime.

Utah went 5-5-0-1 against the Reign during the regular season and 4-2-0-1 at Maverik Center.
