PROVO — Two professionals and an amateur top the leaderboard after the first round of the 76th annual Provo Open golf tournament at East Bay Golf Course.
Former champion Nick Killpack and Zach Johnson each fired 6-under-par 66 Thursday along with amateur C.J. Lee.
Four golfers are only a shot behind with 67s — pros Davis Garner, Justin Keiley, defending champion Dusty Fielding and amateur Garrett Fotu. Matt Leestma, Gipper Finau and amateur Darrin Overson are another stroke back at 68.
Alexander Theodore, Blaire McKeithen and Dustin Volk all came in at 69, while Steve Schneiter and Clay Ogden head a group of 13 golfers at 70.
The 54-hole tournament continues Friday with the final round set for Saturday.
