QUAIL CREEK STATE PARK — A man drowned Monday while swimming in Quail Creek Reservoir in southern Utah.
About 7 p.m., the man in his early 30s attempted to swim from one dock another, a distance of a couple hundred yards, said Quail Creek Park Manager Laura Melling.
The man was from out of state and visiting the area with family, Melling said. No other information about the man was released Monday night.
Family members reportedly saw the man having trouble swimming and tried to help but were unable to reach him. It wasn't clear Monday what caused him to struggle to stay above the water.
Search and rescue divers entered the reservoir about 8:30 p.m. and were able to retrieve the man's body, Melling said.
