The Mormon Tabernacle Choir announced Tuesday that Broadway performer Laura Osnes will be the guest artist for the choir's Pioneer Day concerts in July.
Osnes is known for her Tony-nominated role in "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella," in which she performed alongside Santino Fontana, who headlined the choir's Pioneer Day concerts and Christmas concert in 2014.
"Last year Prince Charming in the form of Santino Fontana made his debut on the Conference Center stage, so it only seems fitting to welcome Cinderella," choir president Ron Jarrett said in a press release. "Ms. Osnes is a talented vocalist and performer who will charm our audiences. We’re so glad the glass slipper fit with her busy schedule."
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square’s Pioneer Day concerts, titled “Music for a Summer Evening,” will be held July 17 and 18, 2015, at 8 p.m. in the Conference Center in Salt Lake City. The concerts will be conducted by Mack Wilberg, music director of the choir, and Ryan Murphy, associate music director, according to the press release.
Free tickets for the concerts will become available June 2 at noon on lds.org. Tickets can also be obtained by calling 801-570-0080 or by going to the Conference Center ticket office. Admission is limited to those 8 and older.
