OGDEN — An expensive tractor stolen from a West Haven construction site earlier this week was spotted in a church parking lot Wednesday.

The Komatsu PT250-5 front-end loader was found abandoned next to an LDS Church building at 1550 E. Rushton St., the Weber County Sheriff's Office said.

No one has been arrested for taking the tractor, which is worth about $130,000.

Ormond Construction workers noticed the tractor was missing Tuesday morning from their work site at 2700 West and 3400 South in West Haven.

The tractor was stolen sometime between 6 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday, said Weber County Sheriff's Lt. Lane Findlay. The person who made away with it didn't have access to its keys, according to Findlay.

Construction equipment is sometimes stolen by people who want to use it for their own business, the lieutenant said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Weber County Sheriff's Office at 801-778-6631.
