WILLARD, Box Elder County — A North Ogden man was hospitalized in critical condition Tuesday after a large Commercial Tire Inc. service truck rolled on I-15 near Willard.
The driver, 28, was traveling north when the truck, which services tires on large equipment and vehicles, rolled into the I-15 median, according to a Utah Highway Patrol spokesman.
The driver, whose name has not yet been released, was thrown from the truck as it rolled just before 10 a.m. and he sustained "potentially life-threatening injuries," according to UHP. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The man was taken to University Hospital by medical helicopter in critical condition.
Investigators are working to determine Tuesday what caused the man to strike a median barrier, drift to the right of the roadway and then overcorrect back to the left, rolling the vehicle.
