SANDY — A fire destroyed one home and damaged another Thursday night, officials said.
Firefighters were called at 8:40 p.m. about a home on 1210 E. Elswood Ave. fully engulfed in flames, said Sandy Fire Chief Derek Maxfield.
Crews worked to protect a home next door, where outdoor siding was melting, Maxfield said. That home suffered about $15,000 in damage.
There were no injuries in the fire. Maxfield said he isn't sure how many people live at the destroyed home, which was being rented.
Fire officials were still working to determine the cause of the blaze Thursday night.
