Political will

Somehow I thought we elected senators and representatives to represent our wishes and desires; that is, the "people's will." Yet while the overwhelming majority of us, the people, have opposed moving the prison, Rep. Jake Anderegg has identified a new entity called "political will," which says the prison will be moved. Why is "political will" different than "people's will"? I suggest we consider this carefully at our next election and get rid of those who think politics are more important than people.
