WEST VALLEY CITY — A Unified Police officer was injured Wednesday night during a vehicle pursuit, police confirmed.

The officer was laying down spikes when the suspect struck him with his vehicle, according to police.

The officer reportedly suffered injuries that were not life-threatening on state Route 201 near 3200 South. Details about the cause of the injury were not immediately available.

The Unified and West Valley City police departments were both involved in the chase. The pursuit was not high-speed, officials said.
