SALT LAKE CITY — Nine Utah state court judges received a Judicial Excellence Award last month during the Utah State Bar’s annual conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. Honorees are: 1st District Judge Thomas Willmore, 2nd District Judges Glen Dawson and Thomas Kay, 3rd District Judges Royal Hansen and Todd Shaughnessy, 4th District Judges David Mortensen and Derek Pullan, 5th District Judge G. Michael Westfall, and 7th District Judge Lyle Anderson.
The award was given by the bar’s Litigation Section as a way to recognize district judges who promote an orderly and civil litigation process and demonstrate exemplary character and competence in performing judicial duties.
The judges were voted on by members of the Litigation Section.
