Sam and Nia Rader were on top of the world last week when they found out Nia was pregnant with their third child.
In a video that went viral, Sam announced to his wife that she was pregnant after he took some of her diluted urine and dropped it in a pregnancy test. Their excitement was unparalleled.
But the couple’s fortune took a dark turn three days ago. The couple found out the child had been miscarried. In another online video, shown below, the couple talked about how the miscarriage was a part of God’s plan and his will.
“We’re so hurt but we’re so thankful that God used us like this,” Sam said in the video. “I just hope this video continues to be a way for God to shine his light to the world through us.”
But the Raders didn’t want to leave things on such a dark note. In a third video released this week, the couple said they were on a “mission for God” and that they were hoping to live a new life under his guidance.
Sam Rader also said that he had given up his job as an emergency room nurse, a decision he made before the miscarriage.
Though the story feels like it reached somewhat of a happy ending for the Raders, online commenters have questioned the validity of the recent YouTube videos, according to The Daily Beast.
“The accelerated timeline of viral pregnancy announcement, miscarriage video, and sudden career change has raised eyebrows,” The Daily Beast reported.
The couple’s positive response video so soon after a miscarriage has led people to believe the Raders’ videos were a publicity stunt in order to get more online followers for their video blog, according to The Daily Beast. The video may also be a political stance against Planned Parenthood.
The Raders have yet to comment on these claims. But it seems that they still are taking a more positive light on the recent turn of events.
