SALT LAKE CITY — Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush will be in Utah for a fundraiser this month carrying the endorsement of Sen. Orrin Hatch.

Hatch, R-Utah, and Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nevada, threw their support behind the Florida Republican on Wednesday before an endorsement rally in Reno.

"Jeb has a longstanding record of conservative reform," Hatch said in a statement. "In Florida, he cut taxes, eliminated wasteful spending, and reformed broken government programs so that they better served people most in need.

Hatch said he is confident Bush would do the same thing for the country. He said he would move beyond the politics of polarization and work to unite the GOP and the nation.

"Jeb is a doer, not just a talker," he said.

Former U.S. ambassador John Price and his wife, Marcia, will host a fundraising luncheon for Bush in Salt Lake City on Aug. 25. Donors who pay $10,000 get a seat at the luncheon and a photo op with Bush, while a $2,700 contribution gets one into the event.
