The first pitch at Thursday’s New York Yankees-Cleveland Indians game was a family affair, as Indians’ Mike Aviles’ daughter Adriana, who was diagnosed with Leukemia in May, threw the ceremonial first pitch.

Adriana, who was joined by her twin sister Maiya, threw the pitch to her father, according to MLB. Fans, teammates and organizations have all offered support to the Aviles family, which made the first pitch a heartwarming moment for more than just Mike and his daughters.

"It's been a tough time, but considering the circumstances, I think things have played out in a good way,” Aviles told MLB.com. “And I think a lot of that has to do with all the support I've gotten. Without that, I don't know if I would have been able to even get through the year."
