SALT LAKE CITY — Two siblings missing for more than eight hours were found safe on Sunday.

Ky-Mani Johnson, 7, and Leili Johnson, 5, were found by Salt Lake City police playing in Sherwood Park, 1400 West 400 South, after 8 p.m. The children were not injured and didn't know police were looking for them, said Salt Lake Police Sgt. Robin Heiden.

The siblings were reported missing about 3 p.m. from their home, 1335 W. 800 South. Heiden said adults in the house discovered the two were missing between 11:30 a.m. and noon. It was not known when the two were actually last seen.

Heiden said the brother and sister have a history of walking off together, most times to go some place to play, she said.

Detectives canvassed the surrounding neighborhoods on Sunday afternoon and sent out reverse 911 calls to residents in the area, she said.
