ST. GEORGE — A man was in critical condition Tuesday after investigators say he was either pushed or jumped from a moving vehicle on I-15.

The incident happened just before 11 a.m. near St. George. When Utah Highway Patrol troopers arrived at the scene, they found a 37-year-old Hispanic man in the road with severe head trauma, said UHP Sgt. Todd Royce.

Witnesses told investigators the man was in a light blue minivan driven by another Hispanic man, when the front passenger door opened and the passenger appeared to "lunge" out. That vehicle briefly stopped after the passenger fell to the road, then continued south on the freeway.

The man was taken to a local hospital in very critical condition, Royce said. Investigators were working Tuesday to made positive identification on him.
