PARK CITY — An industrial accident claimed the life of a man in the White Pine Canyon area of Snyderville Basin on Tuesday.

Jesus Garcia Hermosillo, 39, of Heber City, was killed while operating a piece of heavy machinery, according to the Summit County Sheriff's Office.

The accident happened about 11 a.m., the sheriff's office stated, on property owned by TCFC Finance Co., where a road was being constructed for development in the area.

A large trench was being dug for piping, according to the sheriff's office.

"A (man) using a motorized cutting device was severely injured and later pronounced deceased at the scene," according to the sheriff's office.

Yellow police tape surrounded an area near a hillside where a large pile of dirt was next to a backhoe and two bulldozers.

Further details about how Hermosillo was killed were not immediately released Tuesday.
