I enjoyed the two letters to the editor the Deseret News published last Friday. Robert Emery talked about Washington being run by big money lobbyists, PACs and big money donors (“Real difference,” Aug. 14). I think this is very true. Seems to me that our Washington senators and representatives are bought and don’t dare do anything unless big money donors give their approval. That’s the same for Sen. Mike Lee and Rep. Jason Chaffetz. Donald Trump is not my favorite, but at least he is not owned by any of these groups.
Brian Carlson, on the other hand, seems to get his political information from Fox News or Rush Limbaugh or some other entertainment news source (“What’s best for America?” Aug. 14). People have been saying for years that if a certain person gets elected it would be “disastrous” for our country. We need another senator like Sen. Bob Bennett.
