OGDEN — An 18-year-old man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition after being shot multiple times Thursday afternoon, police said.

The shooting happened just after noon in the 2300 block of Van Buren Avenue, according to Ogden police.

The alleged gunman was believed to have left the scene in a silver car and had not been located as of Thursday afternoon. Police said they believe it was an isolated incident, not a random shooting.

Kent Bringhurst, who lives in the neighborhood, said he heard what sounded like five shots.
