WEST VALLEY CITY — Two neighbors got into a spat Friday night that ended with one man shooting the other in the foot, police said.
The man who was shot was hospitalized, said West Valley Police Lt. Dalan Taylor.
What caused the men to argue wasn't immediately clear. The two men were fighting outside near 5500 West and 4600 South when the shot was fired around 8 p.m., Taylor said, though he wasn't sure whether it was on the sidewalk or in a yard.
The men live a few houses away from each other. The other man hadn't been arrested as of about 9 p.m. Friday, and the case was still being screened for possible charges, according to Taylor.
"(When) you're neighbors, you live by each other, there's better ways to work things out," Taylor said.
