Mack Hirshberg is proving the notion true that age is just a number.

The 54-year-old Utah resident, who was a pioneer of basketball acrobatics and appeared in the 1980s workout video series “The Firm,” was recently featured in a video by Tim Johnson of KSL highlighting his career as a national champion tumbling coach and co-owner of Mac’s Cheer.

The proof he’s got game despite being older than half a century? A few months before the 2014 World Cheer Championships, Hirshberg’s team was in a bind and he ended up filling in as a competitor.

Hirshberg’s secret to staying young?

“I never really wanted to grow up,” he said.

Said his wife Janet Hirshberg, who he owns Mac’s Cheer with, “Who else can do what he does at his age?”
