Weber State Athletics and KJZZ 14 TV have announced a multi-year agreement that will televise nearly every home game for the Weber State football and men’s basketball teams on KJZZ. The agreement will make KJZZ the official television broadcast partner of Wildcat Athletics.
For the 2015-16 athletic season, KJZZ will televise 18 Weber State athletic events. Four of Weber State football’s home games and all 14 regular season home games for the WSU men’s basketball team will be carried live by KJZZ.
“This partnership with KJZZ TV will bring a dramatic increase in exposure to our athletic programs and to Weber State University,” Weber State Director of Athletics Jerry Bovee said. “Wildcat athletics can now be seen across the state of Utah and beyond with a high-quality HD TV production. KJZZ has been a great partner with us in the past and this increased partnership will only further expand the footprint of Weber State Athletics and bring attention to our university.”
KJZZ has previously televised multiple Weber State athletic events, including three games last season. All games will be televised in HD and can be seen across the state of Utah and in parts of five neighboring states. All games will also continue to be streamed live on WatchBigSky.org.
KJZZ broadcasts on channel 14 over the air and for Dish and DirecTV subscribers and on Comcast channels 3 (SD) and 657 (HD). The station provides over-the-air coverage throughout Utah, southwestern Wyoming, southeastern Idaho, southern and eastern Nevada, southwestern Colorado and northern Arizona.
“KJZZ 14 is excited to expand its local, live sports programming to Weber State athletics with television coverage of 18 football and basketball games,” said Jeremy Castro, KJZZ 14 general manager and vice president of broadcasting for Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment. “We will bring the same high-quality production values and broadcast coverage that we provide our sports properties such as the Utah Jazz, Salt Lake Bees, Tour of Utah and high school games.”
