PAROWAN — Flashlights, ammunition and boxes of cereal were recently stolen from mountain cabins in Iron County.
At least four cabins in the Coop Valley area, about 4 miles from Yankee Meadows Reservoir, were burglarized sometime between Aug. 3 and Aug. 4, said Iron County Sheriff's Lt. Del Schlosser. The burglars forced entry into the locked cabins and went though the cabins apparently looking for random items.
Declining to go into detail, Schlosser said based on evidence collected at the scene, as well as the types of items taken, detectives believe the culprits are likely a group of juveniles.
A $3,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrests and convictions of those responsible. Schlosser said if anyone saw a group juveniles in the area during that time, or noticed juveniles who discarded items such as a plastic kitchen trash can, women's outdoor clothing, a Coleman lantern, plastic trash bags or ammunition to contact the sheriff's office at 435-867-7500.
