Utah Valley University dropped its second match in the Pepperdine Asics Classic, 3-0 (25-20, 25-16, 25-16), to foe Pepperdine on Friday in the Firestone Fieldhouse.

"We lost again in three, but there were some bright moments here and there. We are doing OK, but not good enough to beat these teams that are playing better than we are right now," head coach Sam Atoa said. "We can improve on our passing, which helps us to stay in our system. If we can do that, we can utilize a very capable offense. But we have some things to learn. We have to be patient and we will get there."

Lexi Thompson continued to lead the Wolverines (0-2) in kills on the day, earning eight, after earning seven in Utah Valley's first match in the tournament against UCSB on Friday morning. Freshman Abby Jensen also added eight kills against Pepperdine (2-0).

Sophomore Sierra Starley recorded 19 assists for the Wolverines and seven digs, while freshman Sabrina Tanner tied for a match-high 12 digs. McKenzie Schenk also added eight digs.
