LOGAN — Utah State redshirt senior quarterback Chuckie Keeton is one of 32 players named to the 2015 College Football Performance Awards National Performer of the Year Trophy Watch List, it was announced Monday by the organization.

Keeton is one of 20 quarterbacks on the list and joins San Diego State running back Donnel Pumphrey as the only two Mountain West players on the list. The native of Houston, Texas, is also one of three players from the state to make the list, along with BYU quarterback Taysom Hill and Utah running back Devontae Booker.

Entering his final season with the Aggies, Keeton’s preseason recognition continues to grow as the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder has been tabbed to the Mountain West preseason all-conference first-team and he is also on the Maxwell Award Watch List, Wuerffel Trophy Watch List and Davey O’Brien Award Watch List. He is an Athlon Sports first-team all-Mountain West and Phil Steele third-team all-Mountain West selection as well.

All FBS players are eligible for the National Performer of the Year Trophy. The award winner will be announced Jan. 13, 2016.

Keeton has played in just nine games during the last two seasons, including the first three games of the 2014 campaign before reinjuring his surgically repaired knee that he originally hurt in the sixth game of the 2013 season. A year ago, Keeton was 51-of-92 passing for 426 yards (142.0 ypg) and two touchdowns, to go along with four interceptions. He also rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries (4.1ypc).
