The requirement to register for the draft did not go away with the end of the Vietnam War. The Selective Service System requires that all male U.S. citizens, and male immigrants living in the U.S. who are ages 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service.

Recently the U.S. Army two-month Ranger school granted tabs to two females. Now I believe the next step is to also require women who are ages 18 through 25 to register with Selective Service.
