I think everyone who lives close to or around the Wasatch Front should be required to have earthquake insurance. No one knows when that fault line is going off, but we know there are chances for it to go off soon. It has been around 1,300 years since the last earthquake in the area, according to the University of Utah. Seismologists predict the fault line to disrupt approximately every 1,300 years.
When an earthquake does occur, it is not going to be pretty. We might as well prepare as much as we can. No one wants to be paying for anything that has been lost after their job has been destroyed; you might not be able to work for a while afterward anyway. That is why I think it should be required to buy earthquake insurance.
