Head women's basketball coach Cathy Nixon announced her final signee for the 2015-16 class, a 5-foot-7 guard from Sacramento, California, Veronica Preciado.
Preciado was prepped at Grant Union High School and is the oldest of eight children. During her senior year of high school, Preciado played in 22 games where she averaged 17.3 points per game, totaling more than 380 points on the year.
The guard also grabbed an average of eight rebounds and three assists per game in high school. She was named to three all-tournament teams in the 2014-15 season and was twice named to the All-DVC League team in her junior and senior years.
"We are really excited to have Veronica join our program," Nixon said. "She comes from California, plays great basketball; she is a versatile guard who can play multiple positions. What I like best about her is the quality of person that she is. On the court, she will add an offensive versatility. She can score the ball in multiple ways and she has a really bright future here at Utah Valley."
Preciado joins a freshman only recruiting class, including Utah native Kelsey McCann and Arizona products Quynne Huggins and Hadley Nielson.
