MOAB — The Bureau of Land Management is seeking public comment on an environmental assessment designating the Fins and Things jeep route as one way, and designating a portion of the route as available to daytime use only. The 10-mile Fins and Things jeep route has a recommended direction of travel that most people follow. The BLM is considering the proposal in response to public concerns raised about two-way use on the narrow, heavily used route, as well as concerns from campers who have been disturbed by late night use on the route’s southern portion.

The 15-day public comment period closes on Aug. 14. The assessment can be accessed, and written comments may be submitted electronically via eplanning.blm.gov.

Written comments may also be mailed to BLM Moab Field Office, Attn: Katie Stevens, 82 E. Dogwood Ave., Moab, UT 84532.
