Later tonight, the Republican Party’s 17 presidential nominees will face-off in two nationally televised debates, one at 5 p.m. EST and another at 9 p.m. EST.
The first debate, according to CNN, will include nominees like Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal and Lindsey Graham, while the later debate will include frontrunners like Donald Trump, Jeb Bush and Scott Walker, CNN reported.
Some of these candidates have run on platforms that highlight their religious beliefs, mostly because the GOP candidates want to gain the support of religious voters who have a lot of influence over the Republican Party, USA Today reported. This is often the case during election cycles because the GOP and religious Americans often have similar political beliefs, which I wrote about back in April.
"I think in order to win the nomination, you're going to have to have support from the faith community," Gordon Klingenschmitt, a chaplain and Colorado state legislator, told USA Today.
But the 2016 candidates’ religions vary vastly, which could influence the kind of voters each candidate attracts. Take our quiz below to see if you can determine which faith each candidate practices.
