SALT LAKE CITY — The deadline to submit an application to be part of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is Aug. 15.
Applicants must be between the ages of 25 and 55 on or before April 30, 2016, and live within 100 miles of Temple Square. Choir members are expected to be part of the choir for 20 years or until age 60, whichever comes first.
Also, applicants must be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in good standing.
The multistep application process includes a formal application, bishop’s letter of recommendation, voice recording, music theory test and in-person audition.
Those selected will be members of the Temple Square Chorale while they participate in a 16-week training course and are invited to be part of the choir after completing the chorale and Choir School.
