"HOW BEAUTIFUL THY TEMPLES: Sacred Hymns, Vol. II," by Garth Smith, $11.99
Pianist Garth Smith has released his fourth CD, "How Beautiful Thy Temples: Sacred Hymns, Vol. II" that includes piano arrangements of a dozen hymns and songs familiar to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Using his beautiful musical gifts, Smith has created fresh and enjoyable arrangements. Songs included on his CD are "I Love to See the Temple," "Families Can be Together Forever," "Be Still, My Soul" and "Abide With Me; 'Tis Eventide." Besides the hymns, a couple other songs he arranged for his CD are "The King of Love My Shepherd Is" and "In the Garden (I Come to the Garden Alone)."
Each song is masterfully performed by Smith on the piano. The arrangements and performances are impeccable. Each of the 12 CD tracks invites a peaceful spirit into the hearts of listeners.
A member of the LDS Church, Smith was born in Brigham City, but now lives in Oceanside, California, with his wife and two daughters, to whom this CD is dedicated. He stated on his Facebook page that he felt strong spiritual promptings that he needed to share his musical talents with others.
The soothing melodies in "How Beautiful Thy Temples" can enhance study, worship, peace, meditation or just bring a calm mood into homes.
